耶稣说完了这些话，就离开加利利，来到犹太的境界，约但河外。 (19:1)
有许多人跟着他。他就在那里把他们的病人治好了。 (19:2)
有法利赛人来试探耶稣说，人无论什么缘故，都可以休妻吗？ (19:3)
耶稣回答说，那起初造人的，是造男造女， (19:4)
并且说，因此，人要离开父母，与妻子连合，二人成为一体。这经你们没有念过吗？ (19:5)
既然如此，夫妻不再是两个人，乃是一体的了。所以神配合的，人不可分开。 (19:6)
法利赛人说，这样，摩西为什么吩咐给妻子休书，就可以休她呢？ (19:7)
耶稣说，摩西因为你们的心硬，所以许你们休妻。但起初并不是这样。 (19:8)
我告诉你们，凡休妻另娶的，若不是为淫乱的缘故，就是犯奸淫了，有人娶那被休的妇人，也是犯奸淫了。 (19:9)
门徒对耶稣说，人和妻子既是这样，倒不如不娶。 (19:10)
耶稣说，这话不是人都能领受的。惟独赐给谁，谁才能领受。 (19:11)
因为有生来是阉人，也有被人阉的，并有为天国的缘故自阉的。这话谁能领受，就可以领受。 (19:12)

Divorce
It happened when Jesus
had finished these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the
borders of Judea beyond the Jordan. Great multitudes followed him,
and he healed them there. Pharisees came to him, testing
him, and saying, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any
reason?"
He answered, "Haven't you read that he who made them from the beginning
made them male and female, and said, 'For this cause a man
shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two
shall become one flesh?' So that they are no more two, but
one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear
apart."
They asked him,
"Why then did Moses command us to give her a bill of divorce, and
divorce her?"
He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you
to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so. I tell you that whoever divorces
his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits
adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits
adultery."
His disciples said to
him, "If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not
expedient to marry."
But he said to them,
"Not all men can receive this saying, but those to
whom it is given. For
there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and
there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who
made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake. He who is able
to receive it, let him receive it."
