过了六天，耶稣带着彼得，雅各，和雅各的兄弟约翰，暗暗地上了高山。 (17:1)
就在他们面前变了形像。脸面明亮如日头，衣裳洁白如光。 (17:2)
忽然有摩西，以利亚，向他们显现，同耶稣说话。 (17:3)
彼得对耶稣说，主阿，我们在这里真好。你若愿意，我就在这里搭三座棚，一座为你，一座为摩西，一座为以利亚。 (17:4)
说话之间，忽然有一朵光明的云彩遮盖他们。且有声音从云彩里出来说，这是我的爱子，我所喜悦的。你们要听他。 (17:5)
门徒听见，就俯伏在地，极其害怕。 (17:6)
耶稣进前来，摸他们说，起来，不要害怕。 (17:7)
他们举目不见一人，只见耶稣在那里。 (17:8)
下山的时候，耶稣吩咐他们说，人子还没有从死里复活，你们不要将所看见的告诉人。 (17:9)
门徒问耶稣说，文士为什么说，以利亚必须先来。 (17:10)
耶稣回答说，以利亚固然先来，并要复兴万事。 (17:11)
只是我告诉你们，以利亚已经来了，人却不认识他，竟任意待他。人子也将要这样受他们的害。 (17:12)
门徒这才明白耶稣所说的，是指着施洗的约翰。 (17:13)

The Transfiguration
After six days, Jesus
took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into
a high mountain by themselves. He was transfigured before them.
His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the
light. Behold, Moses and
Elijah appeared to them talking with him.
Peter answered, and
said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want,
let's make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for
Elijah."
While he was still
speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came
out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased. Listen to him."
When the disciples
heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid. Jesus came and touched them and
said, "Get up, and don't be afraid."
Lifting up their eyes,
they saw no one, except Jesus alone. As they were coming down from the
mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Don't tell
anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the
dead."
His disciples asked
him, saying, "Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come
first?"
Jesus answered them,
"Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all
things, but I tell you
that Elijah has come already, and they didn't recognize him, but did to
him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by
them." Then
the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
