有一个官问耶稣说，良善的夫子，我该作什么事，才可以承受永生。 (18:18)
耶稣对他说，你为什么称我是良善的，除了神一位之外，再没有良善的。 (18:19)
诫命你是晓得的，不可奸淫，不可杀人，不可偷盗，不可作假见证，当孝敬父母。 (18:20)
那人说，这一切我从小都遵守了。 (18:21)
耶稣听见了，就说，你还缺少一件，要变卖你一切所有的，分给穷人，就必有财宝在天上。你还要来跟从我。 (18:22)
他听见这话，就甚忧愁，因为他很富足。 (18:23)
耶稣看见他就说，有钱财的人进神的国，是何等的难哪。 (18:24)
骆驼穿过针的眼，比财主进神的国，还容易呢。 (18:25)
听见的人说，这样，谁能得救呢？ (18:26)
耶稣说，在人所不能的事，在神却能。 (18:27)
彼得说，看哪，我们已经撇下自己所有的跟从你了。 (18:28)
耶稣说，我实在告诉你们，人为神的国，撇下房屋，或是妻子，弟兄，父母，儿女， (18:29)
没有在今世不得百倍，在来世不得永生的。 (18:30)

The Rich Ruler
A certain ruler asked
him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal
life?"
Jesus asked him,
"Why do you call me good? No one is good, except
one--God. You know the
commandments: 'Don't commit adultery,' 'Don't murder,' 'Don't steal,'
'Don't give false testimony,' 'Honor your father and your
mother.'"
He said, "I have
observed all these things from my youth up."
When Jesus heard
these things, he said to him, "You still lack one
thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will
have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me."
But when he heard
these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
Jesus, seeing that he
became very sad, said, "How hard it is for those who
have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to
enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the
Kingdom of God."
Those who heard it
said, "Then who can be saved?"
But he said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with
God."
Peter said,
"Look, we have left everything, and followed you."
He said to them,
"Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has
left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for the Kingdom
of God's sake, who will
not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come,
eternal life."
